The Monroeville community is taking the first steps toward the realization of a new athletic complex.

The project is off to a good start, as an anonymous Monroeville graduate already has pledged $1 million toward the $2 million facility.

"No tax dollars will be spent on this project," said Greg Schafer, 2000 Monroeville graduate and A Monroeville Athletic Complex committee member.

"This is all being done through private donations," added Ken Leber, 1976 Monroeville graduate and committee member.
