The Fayette County sheriff’s office arrested a former truck stop employee and charged him with five counts of voyeurism after detectives said he put a camera in the bathroom of the business.

Herman J. Perkins, 48, of Washington Court House, was arrested yesterday. Authorities say Herman worked at the Travel Centers of America truck stop on I-71 in Jefferson Township in February when another employee found a camera in a stall there.

That employee called a manager and they found a cell phone with a camera above a removable ceiling tile, according to a release today from the sheriff’s office. The phone was traced to Perkins.

The sheriff’s office said Perkins was being held in the Fayette County jail until his arraignment but jail records don’t list him as an inmate.

No one from the sheriff’s office was available to provide additional information.
