A convicted rapist is accused of failing to notify authorities of changing his address.

Joshua D. Baldwin, 25, of 50 Glover Ave., told a judge Monday he has a prior felony conviction out of Lorain County and his probation supervision has been transferred to Huron County. Attorneys said the defendant had been convicted of rape through Lorain County Juvenile Court.

"He's been in jail for over a month," Huron County Public Defender David Longo said at Monday's arraignment.

Baldwin pleaded innocent to failure to notify his change of address in connection with an incident about Jan. 24. If convicted of the third-degree felony, he faces nine months to three years in prison.

His case is scheduled for trial April 22. Baldwin must post 10 percent of a $5,000 bond before being released from the Huron County Jail.
