A 20-year-old suspected drunk driver and his three passengers were charged in connection with a speeding-related traffic stop in Norwalk.
The driver, Shawn J. Horning, 20, of 3045 E. Collins Road, Collins, was stopped on Main Street near Cleveland Road.
Trooper William Howard, of the state Highway Patrol, made the stop at 1:47 a.m. Saturday when he reportedly clocked Horning going 47 mph in a 35-mph zone.
Horning and his three passengers were charged with underage consumption: Blake A. Buckhannon, 20, of 3826 Hartland Center Road, Collins; Michael P. Muschitz, 20, of 29 Cherdon Circle, Wakeman; and Jacob E. Springer, 19, of 625 Ohio 61. The driver and his passengers were cited and released to a sober driver.
Horning also was charged with speeding, underage driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During a search of the vehicle or Horning, Howard reported finding a blue pipe containing suspected marijuana. The trooper's report doesn't indicate where the pipe was.
Horning's blood-alcohol content level during a breath test was .046 percent, according to the trooper's report. The legal BAC limit for drivers who are 20 years old and younger is .02 percent.
