The Huron County commissioners have officially submitted a request for revaluation of the commercial building at the airport to the board of tax revision.
The board of revision consists of Auditor Roland Tkach, Treasurer Kathleen Schaffer and Commissioner Tom Dunlap.
Several months ago, airport authority board member J.W. Kelley stated there was no way the commercial building should be valued at more than $400,000 as it currently is on the auditor's books. Since the airport makes money off the building, it has to pay taxes on the structure. Kelley said these taxes were high because they building was overvalued.
