Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is being evaluated at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati after he fell ill during a speaking engagement there, his office reported.

DeWine spokeswoman Lisa Hackley said DeWine did not lose consciousness. “I think he just wasn’t feeling good,” she said.

DeWine was speaking at a downtown Cincinnati restaurant to a civic and business group called First Friday.

“Attorney General Mike DeWine is feeling much better after not feeling well earlier today prior to a speaking engagement in Cincinnati. His wife Fran is with him and they want to express thanks to all who have passed along good wishes,” Hackley said in a statement released late Friday.

“He will be held at The Christ Hospital overnight for observation after a bout of vertigo and is expected to be released tomorrow.”

DeWine, 67, a Republican, is running for his second term as Ohio attorney general. Previously, he served as U.S. Senator, lieutenant governor and Greene County prosecutor. He lives in Cedarville.

Maybe they can fix his mouth while he's there so he doesn't spit when he talks!

Windy

Since he's staying in the hospital overnight, my guess is that DeWine is not insured by an Obamacare plan.

@windy...no need to have a plan under Obamacare when he's been sucking off of the public teat his whole political career. It's us, the taxpayers of Ohio who pay for his health insurance.

propman

Truthfully he was a senator long enough it is the federal healthcare covering it.

former local

Ok, so its federal taxpayers who are footing the bill.

Agree with most. DeWine should pay for his care instead of US.
