The Willard Police Department blotter covering Feb. 18 through 24 had the following highlights:

Feb. 18

n A local resident reported her mother had been receiving unwanted text messages from a cell phone.

n A South Myrtle Avenue resident reported the theft of her brother’s bicycle from the front porch.

n A local resident reported her roommate received a threatening letter from someone in prison.

 

Feb. 19

n The school resource officer reported a fight at Willard High School. The officer later reported a student was missing a personal item at Willard Middle School.

n A West Walton Avenue business employee reported firing two employees in connection with a theft.

n Detected no alcohol on the driver of a vehicle “being driven all over the roadway” who pulled into the Willard Middle School parking lot. She said she wasn’t feeling well.

n A Quail Creek resident reported a domestic disturbance over a dog.

n A South Myrtle Avenue resident reported a domestic disturbance.

Feb. 20

n The Huron County Sheriff’s Office reported being at Country Park looking for someone for an undisclosed reason.

n The school resource officer reported an unruly student and one who was truant.

n A Crestwood Drive resident reported someone hit a neighbor’s mailbox.

Feb. 21

n Lois A. Reed, 57, of 313 Woodland Ave., Willard, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to display his driver’s license and making improper right hand turn.

n Jose Orrellano, 29, of Elyria, was charged with driving with an expired registration in connection with an accident at the intersection of Conwell and Walton avenues.

n A West Maple Street resident reported a suspected domestic altercation. A woman left the area before an officer arrived, but later said no assault had occurred.

n Mark B. Barnett, 18, of 115 1/2 Woodbine St., Willard, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon in connection with carrying a large knife in the 100 block of South Myrtle Avenue. While officers were detaining Barnett, his brother, Michael Barnett, 24, of 614 Park St., Willard, “came upon the scene in a disorderly manner” and was charged with disorderly conduct.

Feb. 22

n An East Laurel Street resident reported a vehicle break-in.

n Matthew R. Leibolt, 22, of 1007 S. Main St., Willard, was charged with theft in connection with a West Walton Avenue business shoplifting incident.

n A South Myrtle Avenue resident reported a custody dispute.

n An area motorist reported a vehicle was in a ditch in the 3000 block of Neal Zick Road.

n Joseph Lukitsh, 23, of 109 Washington St., Willard, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant and released to the Norwalk Police Department.

n A South Myrtle Avenue resident reported someone took a wallet out of her purse during a suspected burglary.

n A Crestwood Drive resident reported her son was being unruly.

n A West Laurel Street resident reported her ex-husband was outside and intoxicated.

Feb. 24

n A Quail Creek resident accused her cousin’s boyfriend of inappropriate behavior while being intoxicated. The suspect left the area.

n A Myrtle Avenue resident reported a car heading south in the northbound lane hit and knocked down four poles in the center median area.

n Alexander Castro, 43, of 212 W. Emerald St., Willard, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with harassing a local gas station clerk.

n A Myrtle Avenue business employee reported a male suspect went in and out of the business after being evicted.

n Dispatched an ambulance to Front Street for a possible overdose on pills.

n A Mercy Hospital of Willard employee accused a male suspect of causing problems.
