@ Brock Lee: C'mon my friend, give us snow lovers are last few chances to enjoy this really great winter. Won't be long and you'll be drinking tea by the pool and sweating . While we sit around pouting and waiting for the next years winter.

rbenn

Its 70 here today in SC cliff!!!! I will take this any day over snow and cold!!

Cliff Cannon

@rbenn: I've had 2 really great pleasures this winter ( apart from enjoying this fantastically wonderful weather) One is trying to convince " Brock Lee " who notoriously hates winter,to change his ways and enjoy the snow.

The other has been saying this, to folks like your self, who are hibernating in sunny places or those complain of the cold in front of me ----- WIMP ! :)

Great day to you and by the way what city are you in ?

Columbia

Cliff Cannon

I worked in Columbia for a few month's in 1976, then delivered there through the years.I always really liked the town. Do you like it ?

rbenn

It has its ups and downs, cost of living is cheaper and jobs are plenty. And the weather is much better lol

It's winter - it snows. Getoveritalready!

When did the bureaucrats become powerful enough to order taxpayers off the road and not to go to work?

If temps hit 100º plus during the summer, will motorists also be told to stay off the road due to a possible heat stroke if the vehicle's AC breaks down?

Jezzus! We've become a nation of wimps.

Scranton Tibbs

That's about as true of a comment as I have ever read here.

" Jezzus! We've become a nation of wimps " Totally agree with " Scranton Tibbs " as well as " ladydye_ 5 " agreeing here.

My questions are: How in the hades did American's ever become such wimps ? Or perhaps a even better question: " Why " ?

I find it disturbing that the bureaucrats have exacerbated a potential liability issue between employer and employee.

An individual or family sues an employer because the individual was required to come to work and was injured or worse.

If the weather is so dangerous perhaps authorities shouldn't be out on the roads either?

What's next in the nanny state; mom's being told that they're children can't venture out and people being arrested for shoveling in what authorities deem as dangerous weather?

How is this sh*t even constitutional? Where and what is the legislation?

I can understand authorities "advising" individuals to be cautious, but to prosecute?

How in the h*ll, is going to one's job not a necessity?

Re: " Why?"

My spouse, believing that life is for learning, never asks "why." Rather she asks: What is this for?

Cliff Cannon

" Why ? " If one wanted to make people fat, lazy, wimpy and irresponsible. All one would have to do is GIVE the people everything, with out asking anything in return, true ?

So that has/is being done by our government at ever increasing speeds. So the question in my viewpoint is " why ?"

Re: "GIVE the people everything,"

Back to Austrian economics: Boom and bust.

TANSTAAFL.

FYI: Pres. Truman had a Fed Chairman fired because he wouldn't 'play ball.'

So much for the idea of an "independent" Fed. Resv.
