A pair of Detroit residents are facing charges after a U.S. 20 traffic stop in the village Friday.

Huron County Sheriff's Deputy Shannon Lyons conducted the traffic stop at 12:19 p.m.

"Two individuals, Traevon L. Ginns, 22, and Victoria Perkins, 21, were traveling to Mansfield," Detective Sgt. Josh Querin said.

The initial traffic stop was for failure to display license registration.

"I assisted Deputy Lyons at the scene with my K-9," Querin said.

"Inside the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found," Querin said.

Querin said deputies also found a 9-mm high-point handgun.

"We're still in the process of determining if the gun was stolen or not," Querin said.

Ginns was arrested on warrants from the Mansfield and Ontario police departments.

Perkins was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as was Ginns.

"Ginns said he received the gun on the streets of Mansfield," Querin said.

Ginns was transported to the Richland County Jail.

"I'd like to commend Deputy Lyons on being proactive out there," Querin said.

The Monroeville police assisted at the scene.

"The initial traffic stop was for failure to display license registration."
So where does one display a license registration on your car so I don't get pulled over? TBO, I can't recall seeing anyone who displays their license registration for all to see.

That would be your LICENSE PLATE. I have a feeling they either had it in the back window, covered in snow, or not at all. I know I have mine on display at all times. Your registration is tied to your plates. You get a new one everytime you get your tags or plates.

It is the sticker on the plate.

I thought the stickers were called tags, and the registration (which gives information about the vehicle) was the piece of paper that came along with the tags.
