A Norwalk man has pleaded guilty to selling oxycodone to a confidential informant.
Cody J. Jenkins, 22, of 408 S. Old State Road, Apt. 31, will be sentenced April 2. He was convicted of one count of trafficking in oxycodone in exchange for prosecutors dismissing a second, similar charge.
The Huron County Sheriff's Office coordinated the controlled drug buy.
Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said deputies received information from a confidential informant "who was familiar with the defendant." He said the informant later picked up Jenkins, who told her to drive to Mill Street Bistro, where the defendant got out of the car, went to another house and returned to the vehicle with six Oxycodone pills.
Jenkins sold five of the pills to the informant, Leffler said, "and kept one pill for himself." The prosecutor said the transaction happened while deputies kept surveillance.
The defendant earlier posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond. Jenkins is subject to random drug screens.
