Attempted murder defendant ruled competent to stand trial

A Norwalk defendant accused of stabbing a Vermilion man has been ruled to be competent to stand trial April 15. During Wednesday's hearing, the court scheduled a March 10 pretrial hearing and final pretrial April 7 for Victor M. Macias-Aguirre, 39, formerly of 66 Cline St. "He looked pretty good in court yesterday. He seemed to be doing pretty well," Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said this morning.
