MONROE — A Monroe man initially accused of paying someone to kill his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend is to be sentenced Feb. 20 after pleading guilty to a lesser felony charge.

Thanushan Rajendran, 30, pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit a felony in Monroe County Circuit Court on Jan. 3.

He faces up to two years in prison.

A former gas station manager in Monroe, Rajendran showed security camera footage from the station to an employee last year, identified the intended victim, and paid him $750 to kill the person. The employee instead called police.

Jack Simms, an assistant county prosecutor, said the original charge, solicitation to commit homicide, is to be dismissed at sentencing before Judge Michael Weipert.

What the he// are the laws for. this is not pawn stars where you negotiate your sentence. the law says you spend this much time for this crime. but instead we pay lawyers to deal with the courts. that is bad..really try to have someone killed then get 2 years and then 6 months off for good behavior. how can you get good behavior when you have already shown the worst behavior when you were free

Damn immigrants! They get tax breaks, then try to kill an American and get off on those charges too! I wonder if I go to India and ride a camel around, are they gonna give me a free gas station? Are all the gas stations there owned by Americans? Send this camel jockey back to Acka Backa land.
