HIGHWAY PATROL n Alexandru Pataki, 41, of 1739 Vesta Road, Wakeman, was charged with going left of center Friday after the Ohio 18 collision with the vehicle driven by Joseph M. Bedrick Jr., 52, of Wellington. After being hit on the left side, Bedrick went off the right side and hit a culvert.

HIGHWAY PATROL

n Alexandru Pataki, 41, of 1739 Vesta Road, Wakeman, was charged with going left of center Friday after the Ohio 18 collision with the vehicle driven by Joseph M. Bedrick Jr., 52, of Wellington. After being hit on the left side, Bedrick went off the right side and hit a culvert.

n Jose G. Ortiz, 27, of Ashland, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Saturday after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by John Sexton, 55, of Mansfield, who was slowing down on U.S. 224. Willard EMS transported Sexton to Mercy Hospital of Willard with minor injuries. There was no further information.

n Julie C. Schmidt-lee, 45, of Vermilion, hit a deer Sunday on Ohio 18.

n Amelia N. Fenwick, 17, of 1815 Wenz Road, Wakeman, was charged with failure to control Monday after she lost control on an icy DeRussey Road curve, went off the right side and hit a ditch.

NORWALK FIRE

n Assisted North Central EMS with a pedestrian who fell at 9:59 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Benedict Avenue and Shady Lane Drive. Returned to station at 10:10.

n Assisted North Central EMS with an elderly female patient being transported by Services for the Aging at 1:11 p.m. Monday at 16 Whittlesey Ave. Returned to station at 1:30.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 6:03 p.m. Monday at 66 N. Foster St. Returned to station at 6:20.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:58 p.m. Monday at 29 State St. Returned to station at 12:25 a.m.

n Checked all gas-fueled appliances and found the furnace put out a large amount of carbon monoxide when it started while responding to carbon monoxide alarm activation at 2:33 a.m. today at 15 State St. Firefighters instructed the owner to contact a furnace repairman to have the system checked. Returned to station at 3.

n Responded to a dry sprinkler alarm activation at 2:01 a.m. today at 80 Whittlesey Ave. Firefighters discovered the dry valve covering the front exterior of the building had been tripped and instructed the manager to have the system checked. Returned to station at 2:30.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 6:50 a.m. today at 13 Sycamore Drive. Returned to station at 7:11.

NORWALK POLICE

n An area motorist reported being involved in a hit-skip accident at a Whittlesey Avenue business Saturday.

n A concerned citizen reported a pedestrian fell Monday at the intersection of Benedict Avenue and Shady Lane Drive. North Central EMS transported the patient to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for treatment.

n Tricia A. Griggs, 30, whose address was unavailable, was served two contempt of court warrants Monday. She was released after posting bond.

n Patti A. Sharp, 37, of Peru Olena Road, Lot 24, was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with failure to show proof of substance abuse counseling. She is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

n Russell W. Wilson, 36, of Rittman, was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with failure to report to jail. He is serving a 20-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

n Firelands Counseling and Recovery Center requested an officer transport a Cline Street juvenile to their facility for an evaluation Monday.

n A Garfield Heights resident reported a suspected Internet crime Monday.

n Two area motorists reported a road rage incident involving another person at an undisclosed location Monday.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported telephone harassment Monday.

n A Ridge Road resident reported there was a Hello Kitty book bag with children’s books and crayons in it in the road Monday.

n The state Highway Patrol reported there was a black vehicle partially blocking Niver Road, Willard, Monday. A deputy’s attempt to locate the vehicle owner were unsuccessful.

n The service manager of a South U.S. 250 business reported someone pried the padlocks off two sheds Monday.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from Beckstein Road, Bellevue, about someone entering an unlocked barn and a locked grain building Monday. There were tools stolen from the grain building and someone attempted to break into a garage, damaging the lock and window screen.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about an overdose Monday on U.S. 20, Wakeman. She had called the doctor who suggested she request an ambulance.

n Advised of a Western Reserve student hitting a vehicle in the parking lot Monday.

n A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported domestic violence Monday.

n An Alpha Road, Greenwich, resident reported there was a suspicious male pedestrian Monday.

n An East Peru Olena Road resident reported people riding four-wheelers, one of which had a loud muffler, were disturbing the peace Monday.

n An area resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of a Cook Road, New London, resident Monday after a suspected domestic dispute.

n An East Ohio 61 resident threatened to commit suicide Monday.

n Advised of a suspicious tractor-trailer parked at a U.S. 20, Bellevue, business Monday.
