BGSU Firelands enrollment

HURON On Saturday, BGSU Firelands will be open additional hours to assist students with the enrollment process for spring semester 2007. Spring classes begin Monday.

The following departments will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday: Admissions (100 West Building), bookstore (Foundation Hall), computer lab (231 North Building), financial aid (135 West Building), registration (135 West Building), student services (101 West Building) and switchboard (Foundation Hall).

Sandusky Ski Club

The Sandusky Ski Club will be traveling to Schuss/Shanty Creek in Bellaire, Mich., Friday to Sunday for a weekend of skiing. For more information, contact trip leader, Denise Diab at (419) 684-5570 or e-mail to wkdd@aol.com.

The club will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Come early for social time and to sign up for ski trips. The program will be to make nominations for the club's queen for 2007. Local breakfast

WAKEMAN The Wakeman Lodge, 34 S. Pleasant St., will host a pancake-and-sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The cost is $4.50 for adults, $3.50 for seniors and $2.50 for those under 12.

Local meeting set

Daughters of the American Revolution, Sally de Forest Chapter, will meet at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13 at the home of Regent Ann Stoddard, 112 Ohio 61 E, Lot 9, Norwalk. A potluck lunch will follow the business meeting to fill out annual reports.

North Fairfield Library

NORTH FAIRFIELD A time of fellowship and book selecting will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the North Fairfield Public Library meeting room. Call Amy Schwanger at (419) 744-2285, if you plan to attend and with questions. Light refreshments will be served.

Tiny Tots Story time will begin again at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Staff will be making fleece scarves at 1 p.m. Jan. 13. This project is for all ages and is a no sewing project. Sign up or call the library at (419) 744-2285.

Give Kids a Smile

Free dental screenings for children up to age 18 will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Huron County General Health District office, 180 Milan Ave., Norwalk. The service will be provided by Dentists and Hygienists of the North Central Ohio Dental Society as part of the annual "Give Kids a Smile" program.

Children found to need treatment will be assisted in finding a dentist and/or financial resources for the treatment. Dental information and gift packets will be given.
