At 4 p.m. Sunday, in the Cedar Point Center at BGSU Firelands, local residents from both the BGSU Firelands and Lorain County Community College respiratory care program sites will participate in a special pinning ceremony in conjunction with their December graduation with associate of applied science degrees in respiratory care technology. Gary Englehart, FACHE, RRT, director of pulmonary medicine at Fisher-Titus Medical Center and chair of the Respiratory Care Technology Advisory Committee, will be the keynote speaker.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, in the Cedar Point Center at BGSU Firelands, local residents from both the BGSU Firelands and Lorain County Community College respiratory care program sites will participate in a special pinning ceremony in conjunction with their December graduation with associate of applied science degrees in respiratory care technology.

Gary Englehart, FACHE, RRT, director of pulmonary medicine at Fisher-Titus Medical Center and chair of the Respiratory Care Technology Advisory Committee, will be the keynote speaker.

Presenters will include Rod Roark, director of the respiratory care program; Robin Garland, instructor, respiratory care technology; Carol Puder, director of clinical education for respiratory care technology; and BGSU Firelands Interim Dean James Smith.

The local graduates are (BGSU Firelands campus): Douglas R. Will of Berlin Heights and Gregory D. Wilson of Norwalk.

Jack K. Beckett of Norwalk was recently named to the dean’s list at Wittenberg University.

Katherine Elmlinger has been named to the dean’s list for the 2007-2008 fall semester at Heidelberg College in Tiffin. To be eligible, students must have attained a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester and have no grade below a “C.”

Elmlinger is a 2006 graduate of Monroeville High School and is majoring in early childhood education and intervention specialist. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Academic Honorary. She is the daughter of John and Donna Elmlinger of Monroeville.

The following students completed their Ashland University degree requirements in December 2007: John Chime of Norwalk, received a master of business degree administration in executive management. Amanda Daron of Plymouth, received a bachelor of science degree in education in early childhood education. Christopher Buurma of Willard, received a bachelor of science degree in physics. Nadine Endsley of Willard, received a bachelor of science degree in business administration in business management.

                                 

Katharine Wrabel is a member of the dean’s list for the fall semester at Bluffton University. Students with a GPA of 3.6 are eligible for the dean’s list.

The daughter of Ward and Barbara Wrabel, she is a senior majoring in English. She is a graduate of Norwalk High School.

Jillian D. Ballard was inducted into the Phi Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Lorain County Community College on Nov. 17.

Ballard, of Norwalk, majoring in health related professions, is the daughter of Dave and Bonny Ballard of Norwalk.

Rachel Jackson of North Fairfield has qualified for the president’s list at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Jackson, a junior majoring in fine arts, focusing on ceramics and glass-blowing, earned at least a 3.4 grade-point average to qualify for the president’s list. She is a 2005 graduate of St. Paul High School and daughter of Dave and Sharon Jackson.
