Several area residents involved in car accidents over the weekend

Slick roads made for hazardous travel on Saturday; one local woman suffers serious injuries in wreck.

The Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol handled several crashes Saturday.

Here is a roundup:

5:56 a.m. Saturday: Rebecca S. Parrish, 54, of Bellevue, was charged with failure to control. She was traveling south on Ohio 269 when she lost control and went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. She reported possible injuries but wasn't transported.

6:05 a.m. Saturday: Benjamin Blausey, 26, of 777 W. Main St., Bellevue, was charged with failure to control. He was traveling south on Ohio 269, went off the left side of the road, struck a drainage ditch, overturned and the vehicle came to rest on its roof. He was not injured.

7:34 a.m. Saturday: Bernita Montgomery, 55, of 2543 Sectionline 30, Willard, was charged with failure to control. She was traveling north on Sectionline 30, lost control, went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. She reported possible injuries but wasn't transported by ambulance to a hospital.

8:31 a.m. Saturday: Jason Knoll, 37, of 1360 U.S. 20, was charged with failure to control. He was driving west on Ohio 547, went off the right side, struck a ditch and utility pole. He was not injured.

9:20 a.m. Saturday: Carol Cole, 54, Attica, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. She was traveling north on Ohio 269, lost control, went off the left side and struck ditch. She reported possible injuries and was treated at the scene.

11:40 a.m. Saturday: Catherine Pausch, 52, of 4781 Hartland Center Road, Collins, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. She was driving west on U.S. 20, went off the left side of the road and struck a pole. She wasn't injured.

2:29 p.m. Saturday: Deepak Garg, 31, of Kalamazoo, Mich., was charged with failure to control after he went off the left side of U.S. 250 and hit a ditch and utility pole.

3:20 p.m. Saturday: Nancy T. Stephens, 56, of 575 Ohio 99, Willard, was charged with failure to control. She was northbound on Ohio 99, went off the right side and hit a ditch, milepost sign and a ditch embankment. Stephens was treated later for minor injuries at Mercy Willard Hospital.

3:42 p.m. Saturday: No citation was issued immediately after Alexandria R. Westgate, 22, of 36 Brown St., Monroeville, lost control on the icy and snowy roadway while negotiating a Peru Center Road curve. She went off the left side and hit a “curve warning” sign. Westgate continued off the road, went into a field and hit a ditch. North Central EMS transported her to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with serious injuries.
