The New London family that has been living with space heaters for warmth since the cold set in continues to live without a furnace in a mobile home they rent.
The Huron County Department of Job and Family Services Division of Adult Protective Services assigned a case worker, Nakita McCann, to the West Washburn family due to their living conditions this summer on request of Police Chief Mike Marko but apparently nothing has changed in the way of their living conditions.
Jeff Felton, administrator of the APS, said he can't discuss specifics of any of their cases due to privacy laws.
County Commissioner Tom Dunlap has questions about the family's plight, he said over the weekend. Whether Dunlap can put some heat on the situation remains to be seen. But, he requested an appointment with the Reflector to discuss the family's situation when he returns to the office this week.
