A Norwalk man has been indicted in connection with a Dec. 8 sex offense with a 30-year-old female victim.

Timothy M. Adkins, 24, of 28 Chatham St., is accused of engaging “in sexual conduct with another who is not his spouse when he coerced the victim to submit by any means that would prevent resistance,” his indictment states. He is further accused of committing the offense when “he knew the victim’s ability to appraise the nature of, or control her own conduct, is substantially impaired.”

About 3:40 a.m., a Harkness Street resident was awakened by a 30-year-old Chatham Street woman who said there was an undisclosed disturbance at her home, Norwalk Police Officer Kenneth Stiert wrote in his report.

About 10 minutes later, officers arrested Adkins during a West Water Street traffic stop. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and failure to give a breath sample.

Adkins is indicted on one count each of sexual battery, attempted sexual battery and burglary.

Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff, who couldn’t be reached for comment, met with the grand jurors Friday. The clerk of courts office filed the indictments Tuesday.

Other suspects indicted were:

• Richard E. Coppa, 20, of Ravenna, on receiving stolen property in connection with a Dec. 20 incident.

• Todd E. Ganzhorn, 43, of 31B Washington St., on aggravated burglary and assault in connection with a Dec. 28 incident.

• Nathan W. Konzen, 21, of Ravenna, on receiving stolen property in connection with a Dec. 20 incident.

Adkins, Coppa and Ganzhorn currently are in custody at the Huron County Jail.
