Huron County Sheriff Dane Howard has issued a Level 1 snow emergency for Huron County, effective Friday evening until further notice.

A Level 1 alert means the roads are hazardous, with blowing and drifting snow. Roads also may be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.

In Ohio, there are three levels of snow emergencies, with Level 1 being the least severe.
