Purdue grad gets city job

Norwalk has hired a Purdue University graduate and a 26-year professional engineer for its newly created public works director position. James Sawyer has 15 years experience in the public sector, serving as a municipal engineer for the cities of Wooster and Urbana and a deputy administrator for Summit County. He also has experience designing engineering and construction standards, working with public water, sewer and wastewater treatment systems and administering capital improvement projects. He is currently self-employed with his own firm and will start his new job Monday.
