A Miami County man, recently indicted on federal child pornography charges, admitted he made a mistake but insists he’s not a danger to children.
“I did do some things that were wrong and I’m very embarrassed,” John G. Foster said an interview Tuesday. “I think the charges are a bit trumped up.”
According to court documents, Foster, 44, of Tipp City, was arrested Nov. 6 and charged with receiving and distributing child pornography.
He said he was “looking at pictures” of pornography involving minors but that he thought the models were over 18. Foster also said he never tried to distribute any of the images.
His arrest came after an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Postal Service, which netted eight arrests across seven states on similar charges. Foster is under house arrest until he appears in federal court in New Orleans, where his case will be adjudicated.
Foster said despite the charges against him, he poses no threat to children.
“I’m not going to do anything to anyone’s children,” he said. “That’s just awful.”
No date has been set for Foster’s hearing.
