Brothers charged with heroin crimes

Pair plead innocent to felony charges.

Several drug defendants pleaded innocent to their respective charges Monday in Huron County Common Pleas Court; two of the suspects are brothers.

Jacob A. Wimer, 23, of Sandusky, is charged with complicity to trafficking in heroin in connection with an Oct. 11 incident. His trial date is Feb. 18.

His brother, Jedidiah A. Wimer, 21, also of Sandusky, faces three counts of trafficking in heroin in connection with respective incidents on Sept. 25, 26 and Oct. 11. He goes to trial Feb. 11.

Jedidiah Wimer has a tampering-with-evidence charge pending in Erie County. His brother said he has a prior felony conviction, but currently he isn't on probation.

In other drug cases heard during arraignments Monday:

*** Deon C. Parker, 21, of 35 Oak St., is charged with possession of oxycodone in connection with an Aug. 17 incident. His trial is set for Feb. 13.

*** Steve A. Patrick, 31, of Sandusky, faces one count of possession of heroin in connection with an Aug. 11 incident. He goes to trial Feb. 20.

*** Brandi C. Thornton, 22, of 1005 Myrtle Ave., Willard, is charged with possession of heroin in connection with a Sept. 20 incident. Her trial is scheduled for Feb. 27.

Each of the defendants earlier posted a $5,000 bond. They are subject to random drug screens.
