Here is the ODOT District 3 weekly construction report for the week of Oct. 28:

ASHLAND COUNTY
US Route 42
US 42, between Baney Road to just north of US Route 250 in the City of Ashland, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with flaggers as part of a resurfacing project. Motorists should expect delays throughout the construction of this project. The project is expected to be complete in late November 2013.

State Route 511 - ***UPDATE***
SR 511, at its intersection with Township Road 975 in Orange Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 511 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to State Route 58, north on SR 58 to State Route 302, west on SR 302 to SR 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on November 4; however, the opening is weather dependent.

State Route 603 - ***NEW***

SR 603, just north of US Route 42 in Milton Township, will close Wednesday, October 30 for repairs at the Ashland Railway crossing. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 603 to US 42, north on US 42 to State Route 96, west on SR 96 to SR 603, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on November 5, 2013.

 

CRAWFORD COUNTY

US Route 30
The eastbound driving lane of US 30, just west of the CSX railroad underpass, is closed for work as part of a slide repair project. One lane of US 30 eastbound will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in May 2014.

ERIE COUNTY
State Route 4
SR 4, at its bridge over the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks (one-quarter-mile north of the Huron County line), is restricted as part of an embankment repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project will be complete in November 2013.

HURON COUNTY
State Route 61
SR 61, 0.3 mile north of Laylin Road in Norwalk Township, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 61 to Cleveland Road, east on Cleveland Road to US Route 20, east on US 20 to State Route 601, north on SR 601 to SR 61, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in early November, 2013.

State Route 99
SR 99, between Township Road 34 and State Route 547, is closed for an embankment stabilization project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 99 to US Route 20, east on US 20 to State Route 61, south on SR 61 to State Route 162, west on SR 162 to SR 99, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-November, 2013. 

 

US Route 250
US 250, at its overlap with State Route 162 in Fitchville Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project over the Vermilion River. The road is expected to reopen in May 2014.

The detour routing is as follows:

·         US 250 – US 250 to US Route 224, west on US 224 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to US 250, and reverse for south-eastbound motorists.

·         SR 162 Westbound – SR 162 to US 250, southeast on US 250 to US 224, west on US 224 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to SR 162 west.

·         SR 162 Eastbound – SR 162 to SR 13, south on SR 13 to US 224, east on US 224 to State Route 60, north on SR 60 to SR 162 east.

 

State Route 547 - ***NEW***
SR 547, between Baker Street and Labeau Street in the Village of Monroeville, will close Monday, October 28 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 547 to State Route 99, north on SR 99 to US Route 20, east on US 20 to SR 547, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on November 8; however, all work is weather dependent.

 

State Route 601 - ***NEW***
SR 601, one-tenth-mile south of US Route 20, will close Monday, October 28 for a culvert replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 601 to US 20, west on US 20 to State Route 18, east on SR 18 to SR 601, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on November 18; however, all work is weather dependent.

 

Prospect Street
Prospect Street, between Energy Street and Main Street in the Village of New London, is closed for a bridge replacement project. Local detour is posted. The road is expected to reopen in early December 2013.

 

LORAIN COUNTY
Interstate 90
I-90, over the Black River and Ford Road, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for bridge deck replacements. The restrictions will remain in place through November 2013.

Interstate 90/State Route 611
I-90, at its interchange with SR 611 (mile marker 151) in the City of Avon, is restricted to two narrowed lanes of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge rehabilitation project. SR 611 is also restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra time as they travel this area during the construction of this project, and are encouraged to find alternative routes around the project if possible. The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2015.

State Route 611
SR 611, in the City of Lorain, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete by December 2013.

MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 18 - ***NEW**
SR 18, between Foote Road and Interstate 71, will have intermittent single lane closures on Monday, October 28 for pavement repairs. Beginning at approximately 8:00AM, ODOT crews will begin paving operations in the westbound lanes from I-71 to Medina Hospital. Upon completion at noon, the crews will flip the work zone, and pave in the eastbound lanes through approximately 5:00PM. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers throughout the paving operation. Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution, allow for extra time while traveling through the work zone; or seek alternate routes to avoid this area.

State Route 18 - ***UPDATE***
SR 18, near the square in the City of Medina, has intermittent lane closures for work as part of an urban paving project. The week of October 28, crews will be placing pavement markings and performing other finalization work as the project nears completion. Motorists should expect delays during the construction of this project, and allow for extra time as they travel in and around the City of Medina. The project is expected to be complete in December 2013.

Interstate 76
I-76, between State Route 57 and State Route 21 in Summit County, is reduced to narrowed lanes of traffic for a rehabilitation project. Two lanes of traffic westbound are being maintained using the contraflow traffic configuration. Eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane between SR 57 and SR 94, and two lanes between SR 94 and the Summit County line. The completion date has been extended until Summer 2014.

RICHLAND COUNTY
Interstate 71 (Morrow County)
I-71, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two lanes of traffic as part of a reconstruction and widening project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction as crews complete final project work. The project is expected to be complete in early November, 2013.

State Route 545
SR 545, between US Route 30 and State Route 96, has intermittent single lane closures for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in December 2013.

WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3/State Route 83/Dix Expressway - ***UPDATE***
SR 3/SR 83, between US Route 30 and Friendsville Road, will have intermittent lane closures as needed for finalization work as part of a concrete joint repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction until the completion of the project in early November 2013.

State Route 226 - ***UPDATE***
SR 226, at its intersection with East South Street in the village of Shreve, is closed for sewer repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 226 to State Route 3, south on SR 3 to State Route 179, south on SR 179 to SR 226, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen at the end of the day on Monday, October 28, 2013.
