STEUBEN Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of Advent. During Advent, walk the Posadas with us. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Surprising Joy," are Micah 5:2-5a, Luke 1:47-55 (as a canticle), Hebrews 10:5-10, and Luke 1:39-45 (46-55). The Rev. Patricia E. Welch, pastor and teacher, will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service. Large print bulletins will be available.
On Christmas Eve, the congregation will gather for worship at 7 p.m. This service will feature scripture readings, familiar carols, candle lighting, and communion.
Everyone is invited to celebrate Jesus' birthday and receive a gift at this west side Norwalk church, located at the corner of U.S. 20 West and Halfway Road at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school will take place at 10 a.m. but no evening worship that day). The children of the church will be singing several Christmas carols and a special women's choir will sing "In the Bleak Mid-Winter."
On New Year's Eve, there will be the regular 10 a.m. Sunday school and 11 a.m. worship service. Then at 6 p.m. there will be the quarterly family potluck supper and a short pastoral message followed by an all-ages party of games and snacks.

Trinity Lutheran, M'ville
MONROEVILLE This church, located at 121 Broad St., will celebrate its worship service at 10:15 a.m. Sunday in honor of the fourth Sunday of Advent.
There will also be 7 and 11 p.m. Sunday services for Christmas Eve. The 7 p.m. service is geared more toward young families. The children's bell choir will offer a song during this service as well as musical offerings by members Matt and Cathy Missey.
At the 11 p.m. service, there will be a traditional holy communion service for the holy night. Both services will include the traditional candle-lighting ceremony.

This church, located at 79 E. Main St., will hold a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.
Reigning Word Fellowship
This Norwalk church will be celebrating a special 10:30 a.m. Christmas Eve service. There will be lighting of candles and a Christmas message, "Jesus is the Perfect Gift."
Freedom Christian Fellowship
This Norwalk church, located at 4935 Ohio 601, will be presenting a children's Christmas play entitled, "Wise Guys and Starry Skies" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The play will feature Freedom's youth ministry and will be directed by Harriet Anthony and Christine Ash. A time of fellowship will follow with cookies and refreshments served at fellowship hall.
Norwalk Church of Christ
Sunday will feature the lesson, "Epithets of God: The Lord who Brought You From the Land of Egypt," at 10:30 a.m, and will continue looking into popular beliefs at 6 p.m. with the lesson, "Premillennialism, Part II: Old Testament and Gospels." FITCHVILLE This church will have one morning service at 10:45 Sunday and have Sunday school at 9:15.

MONROEVILLE This church, located at 29 Chapel St., Monroeville, will be having its annual Sunday school Christmas program, "The Great Manger Mystery," at 10:30 a.m. Sunday during the worship service. There will also be a special service of candlelight and communion at 7:30 pm to celebrate Christmas Eve.
First United Methodist, Norwalk
Christmas Eve services take place at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Logos Choir provides music at the 5:30 service while the Chancel Choir and Carillon Bell choir will provide music at the 7:30 service. Special music will begin at 7 p.m. Both services will end with candlelighting. The church office will be closed the week of Dec. 25 to 29. Voice mail will be checked regularly.
St. Paul Catholic, Norwalk
Mass for the fourth Sunday of Advent will be at 4:30 p.m. today and 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Christmas Eve Masses will be at 4:30 p.m., (with overflow in the gathering space of the parish center) 7, 8:30 and 11 p.m. Sunday. Christmas Day Masses will be at 9 and 11 a.m. only.
Wednesday evening prayer will continue at 7 at the church.
The St. Paul baptism ministry team meets with parents to explore the implications of the sacrament of baptism for them and their children. Masses for this weekend will be at 4:30 p.m. today at St. Anthony and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary. There will be no 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Anthony this week.
Christmas Masses will be as follows: 4 p.m. Christmas Eve at St. Mary and 6 p.m. at St. Anthony. Both parishes will celebrate an 11 p.m. Mass. A musical program will begin at 10:30 p.m. at St. Mary. Christmas morning Mass will be at 10 and will be celebrated at St. Mary.
St. Paul Episcopal, Norwalk
Sunday service will be at 8:30 a.m. The Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. with choral music starting at 6:45.
First Presbyterian, Norwalk
The church located at 21 Firelands Blvd. will celebrate Christmas Eve with three services of worship. During the 9:30 Sunday morning worship service, the church will host a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. There will be no Sunday school.
At 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., the church will observe Christmas Eve candlelight services. Rev. Adrian Doll will give the Christmas Eve meditation, "The Prince of Peace." The sacrament of communion will be observed at the 8:30 p.m. service.
On New Year's Eve morning, worship will begin at 9:30, The church will return to its normal worship schedule Jan. 7 with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45.
Collins & West Hartland UMC
"A Season of Wonder" continues as the theme this year for Advent and Christmas. The pastor's message will be, "The Wonder of a Baby's Hand" (Matt.2:11). L. Cpl. Bob Heidl (USMC) and his wife, Deidre will light the fourth candle in the Advent wreath at the 8 a.m. Collins service. Dave and Susie Hamons will light this candle at the 9:30 a.m. West Hartland service. Joe and Gayle Kovach, and Gaylen and Susan Saylor will share this ministry at the 11 a.m. service again in the Collins building. The West Hartland choir will sing, "Redeeming Love."
The Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. in the Collins building. The service will be a candle light communion service and will include the carols of the season. Collin Garner will provide special music. Plan on arriving at 6:30 p.m. for convenient seating. Bill Thomas is worship leader.
St. Peter Lutheran, Norwalk
At the 5 p.m. today and 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services, the congregation will observe the fourth Sunday in Advent. The fourth candle in the Advent wreath will be lit. This wreath marks the days of preparation for Christ's Advent. Sunday school will meet at 9:15 a.m.
A 7:30 and 11 p.m. service are planned for Christmas Eve. The 7:30 p.m. service will have a children's message and the children's choir will sing carols and special music.
The 11 p.m. service will feature a combined musical presentation by the senior choirs and instrumentalists.
Both services after holy communion will close with candlelight singing of "Silent Night."
CLARKSFIELD This church, located at 5151 Zenobia Road, will be lighting the fourth Advent candle at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. The Willinger and Spencer families will do the lighting.
The Rev. Patty Jo Sheldon's sermon title will be, "One of God's Greatest Gifts Joy." There will be Christmas music during the service.
The candlelight service will be at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
The Kemplin family will be lighting the Christ candle. The sermon title will be, "One of god's Greatest Gifts Christ in our Midst."
There will be a roast pork dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 30 with homemade desserts.
