A Plymouth woman accused of hitting another woman with a beer bottle after she apparently showed "some interest" in her ex-boyfriend is out on bond.
Lora L. Garcia, 44, of 4273 Ohio 598, is charged with felonious assault in connection with an Oct. 18 altercation in Willard. If convicted of the second-degree felony, she faces two to eight years in prison.
Garcia turned herself into the Huron County Sheriff's Office at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday, according to a deputy's report. She was transported to the Huron County Jail, where she was released upon posting a $20,000 bond.
She is prohibited from having any direct or indirect association with her suspected victim, Jessica C. Blue 26, of 424 Spring St., Willard, who also was arrested Oct. 18. Chief Deputy Ted Patrick has said Blue was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication in connection with being "loud and boisterous" and "somewhat combative."
Sheriff's dispatchers received an anonymous 9-1-1 call at 12:18 a.m. about two women who were accused of fighting at the Willard American Legion. Deputies responded to 3096 Ohio 99, Willard, and contacted Blue.
Judge Eric Weisenburger issued a warrant for Garcia's arrest Monday.
Her preliminary is scheduled for Thursday. Garcia can waive her right for the state to present evidence and the case would be transferred to Huron County Common Pleas Court for a possible grand jury indictment.
