Tom Herner, 68, of Greenwich Milan Townline Road, was charged with failure to control.

Erie County Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Kautz, the Berlin Township Volunteer Fire Department and Berlin Heights Police Chief Charity Schafer responded to the Ceylon Road crash site. Firefighters handled traffic control on the one-way road.

"The truck was headed south on Ceylon Road. He went off on the right side of the road, overcorrected, then drove off on the left side of the road, went over a driveway and flipped, landing on the other side," Kautz said.

The truck landed on its passenger side.

"It was a Mesenberg Bros. truck out of Collins. He (Herner) will be cited for failure to control," Kautz said.

A LifeFlight helicopter transported Herner from the crash site to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. His condition and the nature of his injuries were unavailable as of press time.
