A pair of Norwalk teens were arrested late Saturday after an incident at the Norwalk High School homecoming dance.

Aaliyah M. Warnke, 19, of 80 St. Mary's St., Lot 12, and Andriana Leach, 19, of 40-A Corwin St., are currently in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Leach was charged with theft and also arrested on a separate undisclosed warrant.

Warnke was charged with theft and also endangering children as she was found to be in possession of a 2-year-old unrelated to anyone involved in the incident. The child was returned to the mother, who resides in Elyria.

The arrests took place at 11:15 p.m.

No other information was available.

huh? what a cluster...so did these 2 go to the homecoming dance together? Or was the baby one of their "dates?" What is there to steal at the dance? Their admission ticket? What was the "incident?" 19 yr olds are usually graduated, aren't they? Oh please do tell the rest of the story... ho hum ;-)

Aaliyah is a "he"? Thought it was pronounced... A lee ya? isn't that a girls name? In the next paragraph is says HE was in possession of a child? WOW. This story needs ALOT of explanation. Is it a love triangle gone bad? Please tell us the rest of the story!

I wonder if these two stole car keys and were attempting to steal a car. My wife and I were sitting outside in our car waiting for our daughter to come out of the dance when these two and another couple were walking towards the parking lot. The other couple walked towards another car. This couple walked towards a white car. Brad Cooley was hot on their trail. He got to them just as they arrived at the car. He questioned them, they handed him something (car keys?) and then he escorted them back into the school. We never saw them come back outside, but when we pulled out of the parking lot, that car was gone. I assume that Cooley gave the keys to the rightful owner and they left.

I have to hand it to Cooley for the way he handled it. He didn't holler at them as they were walking across the parking lot, he just kept them in sight and then handled it as discretely as possible.

Yes, Aaliyah is a girl. I heard they were stealing cell phones.

A friend of mine said her daughters purse was stolen at the dance, and that the two who took it were there as dates of students.

The headline is so misleading, as if to suggest an incident took place at the dance that lead to an arrest. Weak attempt to sensationalize the news.

goreflect

I heard they stole cell phones and shoes. Sad thing is that incidents like these are what ruin it for being allowed to bring in students from other schools. Good Job Brad Cooley! I bet their dates feel like idiots for bringing them know. "DO NOT PASS GO -- GO TO JAIL" HEHE!

Well first of all you want us to have compassion for them lol but I wont the girl on the right has been in more trouble and was caught breaking in to cars at a young age so you can take your compassion and keep it to yourself.

I think it is disgusting that anyone would say that about anyone! What kind of person would say such nasty things about the way someone looks?! I'm not happy to read about young kids stealing, but I would never talk about, or make fun of their looks! And we wonder why our young children are commuting suicide! Because ignorant people like u, teaching them to make fun of how people look! So what if she is a girl, or a boy, or wants to be a boy! So what u do is make fun of people like that? Pathetic!

Or....Maybe she is a thespian.

What the two did was wrong but really you need to bash on something the kid has no control over.He is someone's child how would any of you like it if your child was in the paper and and people were making fun of the way they look. have you stopped to think that maybe he was called enough names or bullied in school and he is where he is because of a very low self esteem. Comment on the dumb crap he did not his looks.
In case you are all thinking I am related to him I am not I don't even know him. Just tired of all the name calling and bullying.

I completely agree with you! It makes me nauseous to even read what these people are saying! I don't think they would like it if people made fun of their Looks, their mothers looks, their sister or brothers! Think before you speak! There are plenty of young people killing themselves everyday because of bullies like these people!
