The Huron Soil and Water Conservation District will host the 17th annual Fall Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine, at the Huron County Fairgrounds Wilson Building.
Organizers say there will be something for everyone.
The Huron County Farm Bureau has partially funded the event, and they also are sponsoring the kiddie tractor obstacle course again this year. Additionally, the Huron County Heritage Area will be open in conjunction with the event, with cookies from the bake oven and demonstrations from the sawmill, blacksmith, wood carver, broom maker and quilters.
Other activities include a chili contest, making a craft bird feeder, decorating small pumpkins, making caterpillar magnets and paper plate pumpkins, climbing the straw pyramid, a straw maze, free book, making a character necklace and "My Plate," horse-drawn wagon rides, and snakes to hold.
This event is a collaborative effort by volunteers from the Huron County Fair Board, the Huron County Farm Bureau, Huron County Commissioners, Huron County Heritage, Huron County Solid Waste District, Huron County General Health District, Huron County Master Gardeners, Huron County Senior Ambassadors, Huron/Erie County Farm Service Agency, O.S.U. Stone Lab, Farm Credit, and South Central FFA.
Also, donations by Huron County Farm Bureau, Enterprise Hill Farm, Tim and Carol Clemons, Burnham Orchards, Huron County First Book, Schlessman Seed Company, and New Horizons Baking Company help make this event possible.
