Prosecutors are reviewing the report of a 19-year-old Newton Street woman who was caught "huffing" refrigerant out of a central air conditioning unit.
"There were three witnesses who wanted to be witnesses, but it looks like there were others," Norwalk Police Capt. Mike Conney said.
Police responded to a Bouscay Avenue apartment at 10:28 p.m. Saturday. Officers were at the scene about 30 minutes to investigate the incident that reportedly happened outside.
"She was supposed to be watching some children," Conney said about an 8-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl.
The woman didn't get sick from the suspected huffing incident. Her possible level of addiction is unknown.
"She appeared to be confused, which is one of the symptoms. She didn't require any medical attention," Conney said. "I don't know if there is any kind of physical addiction (possible) whatsoever."
After investigating the report, police forwarded the report to the Norwalk Law Director's Office for the consideration of charges. Conney said "nobody was charged out of it" initially, but added that prosecutors should be reviewing the case now.
