n Owens Community College students have bee honored for their excellence in higher education, earning membership into the Alpha Omega Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Owens' chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is one of the largest in Ohio. The Alpha Omega Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society local student inductee of this area is: Dawn Olvera of Norwalk, occupational therapy assistant.

n Owens Community College students have bee honored for their excellence in higher education, earning membership into the Alpha Omega Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Owens’ chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is one of the largest in Ohio.

The Alpha Omega Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society local student inductee of this area is: Dawn Olvera of Norwalk, occupational therapy assistant.

n The following are members of Kappa Delta Pi at Ashland University: Katrina Klein of Bellevue is a member. She is the daughter of C. Douglas and Cynthia Klein and is majoring in music education. Laurel Cleveland of Milan is a member. She is the daughter of Wendy Wladarsky and is majoring in middle grades education. Alana Stanbery of Willard is a member. She is the daughter of David and Mary Stanbery and is majoring in middle grades education. Jennifer Valko of Bellevue is a member. She is the daughter of Gary and Holly Valko and is majoring in integrated language arts education.

n  The following are members of the Psychology Club at Ashland University:

Brittani Houghtlen of Norwalk, is a member. She is the daughter of Fred and Naomi Houghtlen. Elise Villanueva of Willard, is also a member. She is the daughter of John Villanueva and Lisa Myers. Thelma Rodriguez of Willard, is a member. She is a sophomore majoring in intervention specialist education.

 

n More than 140 Owens Community College students were recently bestowed honorary pin by the School of Health Sciences signifying their graduation from the registered nursing program. The pinning ceremony is part of a traditional nursing practice, which honors students prior to beginning their careers within the health care community.

Local area graduating nurses include: Benjamin Haraway of Norwalk.
