Brian Hoyer’s grandparents are very happy for their grandson, who was chosen to be the starting quarterback for Sunday’s Cleveland Browns game in Minnesota.

“We’re very proud of him,” said Jane and Ted Marsh, Hoyer’s maternal grandparents who live in New London.

The Browns announced Wednesday that Hoyer will get the nod ahead of Jason Campbell. The need for a new starter arose after Brandon Weeden injured his thumb toward the end of Sunday’s 14-6 loss at Baltimore.

A feature story about Hoyer appears in Friday's Norwalk Reflector.

This house is excited to see him play and we're proud that he's one of ours!!!
