Four people went to the hospital and a 12-year-old boy was treated at the scene after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday.

Roy T. Witter, 82, of Garfield Heights, was northbound on U.S. 20 and exiting the bypass at 9:36 p.m. when he failed to stop for the stop sign and went into the path of the westbound vehicle driven by David M. Nunez, 49, of 20 Jeffrey Way, said Trooper Eddie Lopez, of the state Highway Patrol.

Nunez hit the right side of Witter's 2010 Dodge Ram, which overturned, troopers said. Nunez's 2008 Cadillac Escalade went off the right side of U.S. 20.

North Central EMS transported Witter, Nunez and two of Nunez's passengers, Judy Nunez, 50, and Braden Nunez, 13, both of 20 Jeffrey Way, to Fisher-Titus Medical Center all with minor injuries. The patrol reported David Nunez's third passenger, Jose Nunez, 12, of 31 State St., was treated at the scene for possible injuries.

Witter was charged with a stop-sign violation. Lopez reported drugs and alcohol weren't considered factors in the crash.

The patrol had both trucks towed from the scene with disabling damage.
