A Norwalk man will be sentenced in late October for selling oxycodone pills to a confidential informant.

Norman D. Youngless, 61, of 213 Concord Court, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of trafficking oxycodone. The Huron County Sheriff's Office coordinated the Nov. 27 controlled drug buy.

As part of a plea deal, the state agreed to dismiss a second, similar charge in connection with a March 25 incident.

"We'd also agree that even though Mr. Youngless has a prior felony conviction, it's so long ago we'd agree to recommend community control (sanctions)," Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said.

Youngless faces six to 18 months in the Huron County Jail when he is sentenced Oct. 29.

Leffler said a wired confidential informant went to a Concord Court apartment while deputies maintained surveillance.

"The informant went in and purchased five pills, believed to be oxycodone," he said. "The defendant offered 10-milligram variety, but the 5 milligram (pills) were bought."

Leffler credited Youngless with being cooperative with investigators after he was arrested.

Youngless has been out on bond since being released from custody after his July 8 arraignment. He is subject to random drug screens.

CAST THE FIRST STONE

I dont know this man but i do know some other people around his age that have done the same thing to pay rent. Might not be his story but it happens. They need the pain pills for their pain but need the money for rent or food more. Hard to judge people. Sometimes good people do wrong things in desperation

I'm almost 67 and a combat Vet. No excuse for his actions, sorry.

I'd pick up a second job before I potentially ruin someone else's life. No excuses for this behavior. He is the reason that people that really need pain killers for pain management have to jump threw hoops.

We're so sorry if we caused you any pain

We're so sorry but we haven't heard a thing all day
We're so Sorry Uncle Albert
But if anything should happen we'll be sure to give a ring

We're so sorry Uncle Albert
But we haven't done a bloody thing all day
We're so sorry Uncle Albert
But the kettle's on the boil and we're so easily called away
