n Gloria J. Cox, 62, of 70F W. Chestnut St., hit a deer Monday on Whittlesey Avenue.

M’VILLE POLICE

n Brian P. Matzek, 40, of 34 Brown St., Monroeville, was served two warrants Friday and charged with theft and criminal mischief.

n The Sandusky Police Department reported having Tara L. Hoffman, 20, of Sandusky, in custody on a local warrant Saturday. She was charged with failure to pay fines and costs on the original charge of driving with a suspended license. Hoffman currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

NORWALK POLICE

n Gary L. Hayes, 37, of 7 Case Ave., No. 7, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Monday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Jeffrey L. Eastman, 45, of 300 Ridge Road, Willard, on Schauss Avenue.

n Dustin G. McCarthy, 21, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on an undisclosed Lorain County Common Pleas Court indictment Monday. He was turned over to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

n A local parent reported her daughter was assaulted Monday at Norwalk High School.

n Dispatched sick raccoons with the animal control rifle Monday on Pine Street and Homewood Avenue.

n Alan M. Schuh, 24, whose address was unavailable, was served a summons Monday and charged with failure to provide proof of rabies immunization for a cat involved in a biting incident.

n A Cleveland Road resident reported vehicle damage Monday.

n Brian L. Moore, 28, whose address was unavailable, turned himself in on two warrants Monday. He was charged with failure to appear on the original charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. Moore was released after a Norwalk Municipal Court hearing.

n A North West Street resident accused someone of pouring something into her gas tank Monday when it was parked near a local bar.

n A Milan Avenue resident reported an undisclosed theft Monday.

   

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n Dispatched the Willard Fire Department to a Willard West Road, Willard house fire Monday.

n A Ferris Lane resident reported being threatened Monday by a suspect involved in a case with the Huron County Dog Warden’s Office.

n An employee of New London Local Schools reported a bus driver backed into a Chenango Road, New London, barn Monday.

n A West Main Street, North Fairfield, resident reported her son was being unruly Monday.

n A Section Line Road 17, Monroeville, resident accused a neighbor of stealing some undisclosed items Monday.

n A South Central High School employee reported an undisclosed theft Monday.

NORWALK FIRE

n Determined an odor complaint at 10:42 a.m. Monday at 27 Welton Ave. originated from the street department “smoking” area sewers. Returned to station at 10:52.

n Extinguished a burn barrel while assisting the Norwalk Police Department with a burning complaint at 10:31 p.m. Monday at 71 Whittlesey Ave. Returned to station at 10:44.

n Responded to a brush fire, which actually was a controlled burn, at 6:30 a.m. today at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Halfway Road. Returned to station at 6:38.
