Joe Widman, chairman of the Norwalk Truckers All Sports Complex committee, gave a brief update to the school board Tuesday about the project.
"I want to let you know the committee has been working very hard," said Widman, who retired as a Norwalk High School (NHS) teacher in 2010.
The committee's goal is to raise $400,000 -- the overall cost of the stand-alone building. The facility will be behind the NHS weight room between the freshman football field and practice field. None of the $400,000 will be funded by Norwalk City Schools.
A story about the proposed project was published in Saturday's Norwalk Reflector.
