PLYMOUTH — Western Reserve senior Adam Daniels banked in a jump shot from the key with two seconds left in the game Friday to earn the Roughriders a 47-45 win at Plymouth in an early Firelands Conference showdown.
Western’s Seth Todd grabbed one of his 12 rebounds on a missed Plymouth shot with 20 seconds to go. At the 11-second mark, the Riders took the ball out of bounds, after a timeout. Daniels got the ball, controlled it out front, and then worked his way into the key. He said he knew the shot was good when it left his hands.
Roughriders coach Chris Sheldon said Daniels had an even bigger defensive play just a few seconds earlier, after Plymouth’s Brook Turson came up with a steal with the score tied 45-45.
