Two Norwalk motorists were charged with driving under the influence in connection with separate traffic stops by the state Highway Patrol.
Derek M. Castillo, 21, of 64 Simpson Ave., was stopped for speeding (45 mph in a 35 mph zone) by Trooper Eddie Lopez. The traffic stop happened at 1:20 a.m. Saturday on Old State Road near Executive Drive.
Castillo's breath had a blood-alcohol content level of .123 percent, Lopez said in his report. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent. Castillo was charged with DUI and speeding.
Sgt. Tom Myers stopped Francisco J. Oviedo-Martinez, 30, of 23 Newton St., Apt. 62, for a suspected marked lanes violation at the intersection of Whittlesey Avenue and Executive Drive. The stop happened at 10:54 p.m. Sunday.
Oviedo-Martinez, whose BAC tested at .13 percent, was charged with DUI and a marked lanes violation, Myers said in his report.
Neither man has a prior DUI conviction.
