If you are a high school football fan, this is the weekend for you.

All six divisions will play state championship games, with Divisions V, III and II on Friday and VI, IV and I on Saturday.

All six games will be televised live on SportsTime Ohio, Channel 76 in Norwalk.

The matchups are:

Division I -- Mentor (11-2) vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier (14-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Division II -- Cincinnati Anderson (12-2) vs. Louisville (12-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Division III -- Sunbury Big Walnut (13-1) vs. Newark Licking Valley (13-1) at 3 p.m. Friday.

Division IV -- Coldwater (13-1) vs. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney (14-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Division V -- Marion Local (14-0) vs. Youngstown Ursuline (12-2) at 11 a.m. Friday.

Division VI -- Hopewell-Loudon (14-0) vs. Newark Catholic (12-2) at 11 a.m. Saturday.

For starters, St. Xavier is fortunate to be playing at all. The Bombers defeated Dublin Coffman 10-7 in the state semi-finals, but it wasn't easy. Coffman finished the game completing a pass inside St. Xavier's 10-yard line. The problem was Coffman was out of timeouts and the clock expired.

Take a look at the divisions. It's possible that two teams from Cincinnati, Youngstown and Newark could win titles.

The Division IV contest should be a classic. It will feature the passing attack of Coldwater against the power running game of Mooney. Mooney has played the past two playoff games without star quarterback and defensive back Dan McCarthy, who hurt his neck against Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in the second round.

Coldwater beat Jonathan Alder 43-14 in the first round and then knocked off Kettering Alter 59-52 in three overtimes. The Cavaliers trailed Alter 28-7 and 42-21 before rallying.

Coldwater defeated Clinton-Massie 63-14 in the regional final and Westfall 56-14 in the state semifinal.

Don't forget, Mooney ended Steubenville's 42-game winning streak and also defeated Mentor 21-10 in Week 1 of the regular season.

Mooney also scored a 37-14 win over Ursuline during the regular season.

Division V should also be a war.

Marion Local beat Patrick Henry 42-20 in the state semis. Those 20 points were the first the Flyers had surrendered in the playoffs.

Hopewell-Loudon is another lucky team. The Chieftains beat Ada 41-38 in overtime in the state semis. Trailing 38-35 in OT, Hopewell decided to go for it on fourth down instead of trying a tying field goal. The Chieftains pass fell incomplete, but Hopewell was helped with a pass interference call. They ran it in from there.

State title predictions for fun:

Division I -- St. Xavier 17, Mentor 14.

Division II -- Louisville 24, Cincinnati Anderson 13.

Division III -- Licking Valley 21, Big Walnut 14.

Division IV -- Coldwater 35, Mooney 34.

Division V -- Ursuline 20, Marion Local 7.

Division VI -- Newark Catholic 28, Hopewell-Loudon 21.
