A Norwalk driver accused of drunk driving this weekend faces several charges after an area traffic stop.

Donald E. Resor Jr., 31, of 29 Jefferson St., was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), speeding, a seatbelt violation and failure to reinstate in connection with the Sandusky County traffic stop at 7:45 a.m. Friday.

Sgt. Jason Demuth, of the state Highway Patrol, stopped Resor after he said the driver was going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone on U.S. 20.

Resor, who reportedly refused to submit to a breath test, has prior DUI convictions in 2004 and 2010, according to the patrol.

Overall in Ohio during the Labor Day weekend, the patrol reported aggressive driving citations were up more than 67 percent with 3,727 drivers cited and DUI arrests were up 9 percent with 762 drivers arrested.

Should have let him go and see what house he walked into...but he's a good guy and wouldn't do that! And this will change his life for the better..and drinks only twice a week...and was so drunk he didn't have ill intent in the car...he is getting married soon..coming from his brothers(?)bachelor party..etc., etc., etc,.........at least no one shot him.

LoveLife

He is a decent guy, no this won't change him, and he would do this, hint, it says he had 2 other DUIs.. His brother has been married for awhile, sooooo WTH is this rambling about????

Scranton Tibbs

Wow that went right over your head. So sad.

itsnotme

I got it...and I laughed.

LoveLife

So sad... Really??? sorry .. No I don't fallow every article.. Or all the judging comments that fallow them. Have some respect. Even Americas finest get DUIs.

Scranton Tibbs

How can you expect anyone to take anything you post seriously if you can't even spell a word as simple as "follow". Wow.

LoveLife

Ooooooo spelling patrol caught me.. How about you get a life and I'll go get a dictionary.

Grow up!!

WASP71

I may grow old, but I will never grow up. YOU need to get a sense of humor. Try Walmart first. I heard there are funny looking people there so you may laugh and get the humor. Try to buy a life while your there. May help you out with the one you take WAY to serious. Layoff..if I want your opinion I'll ask for it.

alwaysatfault

Wow you people and your comments LOLOL grow up and leave an innocent person out of your smart a$$ comments, maybe he doesn't follow comments on different articles that is his choice RIGHT?!?!? Sorry LoveLife they are rambling on about another article in this poor reporting newspaper, they are ones who don't feel people who drink or get drunk should have a chance at life and should be put away for life lolol when prob some "drunks" are way more intelligent and prob have more in a lifetime then they ever will hahahaha doesn't feel good on ASSUMPTIONS does it

coolstorybro

wow, you people really have nothing better to do. so maybe Lovelife has... well Idk a love life? lol and doesn't spend all day on here reading articles and comments! get over yourselves! and get a (love) life! lol sorry lovelife :) isn't this the same guy who threw the dog out of his truck? I know it was Resor, just not sure if it was this one...

LoveLife

Honestly he didn't throw it. The whole story wasnt told. It is the same guy though, yes. I know nobody on here cares to know, or to do anything but judge anothers mistake, however i'm sure if you were in the same position, you would have done the same.. Or worse. He did his time though. His choices weren't the best and he knows that but under the circumstances he did what he needed to. He's not a perfect guy.. Not even close, but who of us are.

A DUI at 7:45 a.m. and two other known previous DUI offenses......I think this man may have a drinking problem.

LoveLife

Maybe he works 3rd shift and had a drink after work. Lots of people do that. he was in the wrong, no doubt.. And we all have our problems. You all complain about people being sent to rehab... Some people hope and pray that their loved one would be sent to rehab, it could be just the thing to save their life. You all see them as a "junkie" More people need to see them as somebodies Son.. Daughter.. Brother.. Sister.. Even parent or grandparent. They may have their problems, but somebody loves them, somebody cares about them. They are humans.

nikfrog

You just hit the nail on the head! Behind every person who's done something bad, is a mom who's heart is breaking. Nobody raises their children to be like this. So sad. We are all so quick to judge, but none of us really know the back story. Everyone is so quick to judge without a thought to the persons family who is know doubt suffering as well. Whatever happened to compassion? Makes me sad....

LoveLife

Exactly... This world could be just a bit better if people showed less hatred and a bit more love, because you just never know. For the one who made fun of my spelling error, I was an LD student through most of my school days, Ive over come most of it, but yes I still trip up here and there. I knew fallow looked off but also knew people were smart enough to know I ment follow.. And im on a cell the Swype thing came up with fallow so I went with it. It is kind of sad yes, because I feel Norwalk schools let me down, I hope the program they have now, no child left behind, really helps kids like I was. But anyways.. Yup you never know what another person is carrying, people deal differently. It just takes a few positive people to build up the ones who need the help to be strong.

juzzmytake

More than A drink. More than ONE time. Those killed by a drunk driver and the families and loved ones of someone killed by a drunk driver are somebodies too. I am all for rehabilitation. Volunteered. Court ordered rehab is proven to not be highly successful. I do wish this man gets help......before it's too late for himself or somebody else.

LoveLife

I pray he does to.. And thank the Lord quite often that things haven't been worse. As his sister I stick by him, I pray for him, and I fear for him and choices he's made. He isn't perfect by any means but he's my brother.. My family, and without him we wouldn't be whole. If you don't have family, you don't have anything at all. At least for us.. Our family is our everything... Even the black sheep has his place in our heart. <3

nikfrog

Best of luck to you "LoveLife". I hope your brother does get the help he needs and your family can heal. What a shame that people seem to thrive on these "news" headlines and shamelessly comment without a thought to the families behind the scenes.

LoveLife

Thank you. All I ask is that the next time any of you reading this find yourself judging.. Judging the young girl in the store using a foodcard.. The smelly guy you pass on the street, even the over weight one at McDonald.. The handicapped child making strange noises, Just think that's somebodies baby, could be yours if the tables turn. Love Life and Love Eachothers.. Theres enough hate in the world! Good bye, and have a wonderful day :-)
