A Youngstown woman has been arrested on child pornography and rape charges.

Agents with Attorney General Mike DeWine's Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit arrested Connie Ramirez, 43, on charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, pandering obscenity involving a minor and possession of criminal tools.

Ramirez is currently in custody at the Mahoning County Jail on $500,000 bond.

"The evidence our agents found in this case is disturbing, and this is exactly why I formed the Crimes Against Children Unit to go after child predators who think it is acceptable to abuse kids," DeWine said.

Agents with the CAC Unit, which is a division of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), began investigating Ramirez after serving a search warrant at the Niles home of William Brock Sr., 832 Mason Street, last month. Agents later traced some of the evidence seized from the home to Ramirez.

Agents served a search warrant at Ramirez's residence, 1790 South Meridian Road, Youngstown, on Tuesday.  Several items were seized and are currently being reviewed for additional evidence.

Brock is in the Trumbull County Jail on charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

Officers with the Niles Police Department, Austintown Township Police Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigation have assisted in the investigations.

Scranton Tibbs

All this free and legal porn out there and people do this? If this happened in Huron county these two could just apply for Teen Challenge and Jesus could tell them that looking at underage snapper is W-R-O-N-G.

Looks are really deceiving. She sure doesn't look like a porn person but neither do most,I guess !

Tibbs. You are crazy .... rape of a kid is a little dif then doing drugs and selling 20 bags. Don't you think? There is different levels of felonies, and not all crime and criminals can be lumped together.

But I can tell you are a intelligent person and fed up with the way our economy, politics, and direction our society is headed and I totally agree

Sad to hear this happens in Norwalk. Oh wait, this didn't happen in Norwalk, it happened IN FREAKING YOUNGSTOWN!!!! This paper can't go out of business soon enough. It's bad for the community.

What a totally ignorant complaint. Other people want to know what's happening in the world. Bad for the community? What a foolish thing to say.

I agree, Kelly. Joe Blow obviously doesn't realize that with Internet-related crimes can affect people all over the world. And I for one like seeing that these people get caught. It sends a warning message to similar criminals. But Joe obviously is in la-la land and wants only sugar and spice and everything nice reported in the news. I hope this paper stays in business for another 200 years!

hang 'em high !
