A 4-year old boy shot himself in the head Sunday afternoon while in his Dundee, MI. home, Dundee Police Chief David Uhl said.
Police responded to the call at 4:19 p.m. which occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Rawson St. Monroe County EMT and volunteer fire department squads attempted to work on the child in the front bedroom of the house before transporting him to St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor. The victim was pronounced dead in the hospital emergency room at 5 p.m.
Dundee police have arrested a 30-year old Dundee man that was a live-in friend of the victim's father, holding the man on a charge of manslaughter with gross negligence. Formal charges remain pending from the Monroe County Prosecutors Office. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
