A man and woman are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 676 Oxycodone pills, worth $16,225 following a traffic stop in Wood County.
Troopers stopped a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, with Kentucky registration, for a speed violation, on Interstate 75, near milepost 196, in Wood County at 2:01 a.m. on August 14. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband in the center console of the vehicle.
The driver, Luciana F. Loyd, 38, of Detroit,and passenger, Vincent K. Barksdale, 22, of Radcliff, Ky., were incarcerated in the Wood County Justice Center and charged with possession and trafficking in Oxycodone, both second-degree felonies. If convicted each could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
