A California man is facing human trafficking charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered two female human trafficking victims during a traffic stop in Lucas County. Troopers also located 20 grams of marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber Springfield Arms handgun in the suspect’s vehicle.

Troopers stopped a 2012 Nissan Versa, with California registration, for a speed violation eastbound on Interstate 80, near milepost 57, in Lucas County at 9:15 a.m. on August 13. Troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the marijuana and loaded handgun. Further investigation revealed paraphernalia associated with the sex trade. Upon contact with the young female passengers, a 21-year-old California woman and a 25-year-old Arizona woman, they admitted to being forced into prostitution.

The suspect, James D. Jackson, 21, of Sacramento, Calf., was incarcerated in the Lucas County Jail and charged with human trafficking, a first-degree felony; carrying a concealed weapon; a fourth-degree felony; and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.

Sounds to me like a "Yaa Yaa, thats it! We were forced.." coming out of the chicks mouths. I wonder if the one who owned the car with pot in it, was a woman, could the men plea the same excuse?? Not saying..just saying

Why would they say that? Not because of the misdermeaner pot, and they cant all go down for one pistol. Toledo is a major hub for human trafficking in the U.S. # 3 I believe.. krazy huh

@ "truckin".. you know I don't know whether to think of you as being "shallow" and "heartless" or to see you as "uneducated" on the subject, either way, you are looking at this backwards , in my opinion.

I don't know if you know of anyone who has been sexually abused , but if you do , it would be worth your time to see the control that their "pimp" had over them. Sure they were let loose to walk the streets and make money for the pimp, and of course people would think, "why don't they just disappear when they are free??" but the truth is that a sexual predator is so good at picking their victims, and also knowing exactly how to control them. It might be threats to them personally, but after awhile, the victims think that death might be better than to work for this guy, degrading themselves just to make money for someone else, so it has to be more than that I believe that the "pimp" is usually so good that they find that one ot two people that would devastate their victims so much that they would always obey him. It could be their family member or friend or someone just very close to them, that the "pimp" uses as a way of controlling them.

I have read many of your comments, and often agree at least partially with some of what you say, But on this one, you seem to blame the victim, not the predator, and I think that is not the way situations like this should be looked at ... in my opinion
