Five children, who are the suspected victims of abuse, have been removed from a Jefferson Street home.
The children, who range in age from 3 to 13, were the subject of a shelter-care hearing Wednesday at Huron County Juvenile Court.
Two girls, ages 13 and 10, indicated during police questioning they were sexually abused by Justin Collins, 19, and Jason Wooten, 36, both of 37 Jefferson St.
Collins is facing charges of rape and unlawful contact with a minor and remains in custody at the Huron County Jail. He must post a $125,000 bond before being released.
Wooten has been charged with gross sexual imposition through Norwalk Municipal Court and four counts of rape and seven counts of gross sexual imposition through Bellevue Municipal Court. He is incarcerated at the jail in lieu of posting a $230,000 bond.
The alleged incidents took place over a four-year period in Norwalk, Bellevue and possibly Lakewood.
Chris Mushett, juvenile court administrator, said at least the two elder girls disclosed to their mother, who was also living at the Jefferson Street residence, that they were being sexually abused.
“Despite the mother’s knowledge, she took no action to protect her children,” Mushett said.
“The court found the (five) children to be the (alleged) victims of abuse, neglect and dependence,” Mushett said.
The court placed the 13- and 10-year-old in the custody of their father.
Judge Timothy Cardwell ruled a 4- and 3-year-old, girl and boy, who were Wooten’s children, be placed in the custody of an aunt, as well as a fifth child, a girl, 5.
The mother is only permitted supervised visitation with the children through the Department of Job and Family Services, Mushett said.
All the children will undergo a sex-abuse evaluation, he added.
The case is due back in court at 1 p.m. Sept. 12.

She should be charged. These children will now grow up with many issues. TRUST being one of them. I hope they receive the help they need and someone TAKES CARE of them and LOVES them like they deserve!

Everyone is fam...

I hope the mother sits in jail as well and she never sees those children again and when her life expires, her very last thought is of those children's pain and suffering. To put a man above your children is disgusting and unforgivable. She needs to have her reproductive organs removed so that she can never have children again. She should have been the one oerson these children could have counted on. These people are the most disgusting forms of life and do not ever deserve to have freedom.

Is our system really that sick that it would allow her to see these poor children. They went to the one person who thought would protect them and you failed. You failed as a mother and as a human being. I hope you rot in he!!..

Sassy

Absolutely sickening. There is a special place in hell for people like that.

I bet she visits [her man] in jail. She put these children in harms way. She is not a mother, she is a needy , sad , excuse for a human.

Imagine how vulnerable and the loss of hope these girls feel, the [mama] cant help the girls heal ,they need to feel safe and need to trust again, they can never have that with her. Give your girls a break and a chance of a decent future, before you need a man [any man] again. , don't reunite , do what's right
