OSHP investigating two-vehicle fatality crash in Sandusky Co.

The driver of a 1994 Buick LeSabre was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The state Highway Patrol  currently is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash.

The crash occurred at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 6 east of milepost 26 in Townsend Township in Sandusky County.

Troopers on scene have reported that a 1994 Buick LeSabre was traveling eastbound on U.S. 6 approaching the intersection of County Road 260. A 2000 Mack Commercial Truck was traveling westbound on U.S. 6. Troopers said the driver of the LeSabre went left of center and hit the commercial vehicle head on. Both vehicles went off the south side of U.S. 6 prior to final rest.


The driver of the Buick LeSabre was pronounced deceased at the scene. The information of the deceased will be released once notification has been made to family members.

A road closure has been established by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Vehicles traveling westbound on U.S. 6 will be diverted southbound on Ohio 269 in Erie County to Ohio 101. Vehicles traveling eastbound toward the Sandusky area will be diverted southbound on Ohio 510 to Ohio 412.

The patrol is being assisted on scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Clyde Fire Department, Sandusky County EMS, EPA, ODOT and Madison Motors.
