Area road closings, delays announced

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released its weekly construction report for District 3, which includes Huron County.

Here is the report for the Week of July 29:

ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 60
SR 60, between Township Road 585 and County Road 2404, is closed for an embankment repair and culvert replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 60 to State Route 179, south on SR 179 to State Route 95, west on SR 95 to SR 60, and reverse. The road is expected to reopen in mid-August, 2013.

State Route 511
SR 511, between Township Road 1025 and Township Road 2375 in Green Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 511 to State Route 39, west on SR 39 to State Route 603, north on SR 603 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to SR 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 2, 2013.

State Route 603
SR 603, at two locations north and south of County Road 1475, is closed for culvert replacements.  The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 603 to US Route 42, north on US 42 to Claremont Avenue, north on Claremont Avenue to Baney Road, north on Baney Road to State Route 96, west on SR 96 to SR 603, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen by August 9, 2013. 

CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 602 - ***UPDATE***
SR 602, between Mill Street and Bucyrus Street in the village of North Robinson, is closed  for repairs at the railroad crossing.  The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 602 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to State Route 598, north on SR 598 to County Road 330, west on CR 330 and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on Monday, July 29, 2013.

ERIE COUNTY
State Route 101
SR 101 (Tiffin Avenue), from Harbor Boulevard to just south of Superior Street in the City of Sandusky, is closed for tie-in work as part of an $8.1 million railroad grade separation project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 101 to US 6, west on US 6 to State Route 2, east on SR 2 to SR 101, and reverse for northbound motorists. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained at all times by utilizing Ferndale Road and Superior Street. The road is expected to reopen by August 30, 2013.

HURON COUNTY
State Route 61
SR 61, between South Pleasant Street and Old State Road in the City of Norwalk, has intermittent single closures for bridge repair work as part of a resurfacing project. SR 61 is also reduced to one lane of traffic between Marshall Street and the eastern corporation limits of Norwalk. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in August 2014.

State Route 61 - ***UPDATE***
SR 61, between State Route 598 and the City of Norwalk, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for resurfacing work. Snyder Road and South Norwalk Road have both reopened; the roads were previously closed for bridge repairs. The project is expected to be complete in November 2013.

State Route 269 - ***NEW***
SR 269, just south of Seel Road in Lyme Township, will close Monday, July 29 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 269 to State Route 547, east on SR 547 to State Route 4, north on SR 4 to US Route 20, west on US 20 to SR 269, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 2, 2013.

LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 58          
SR 58, between State Route 511 and Morgan Street is closed in the City of Oberlin for a sanitary sewer replacement project. Local traffic can follow posted detour; however, the detour route for trucks is SR 58 to  -US Route 20, west on US 20 to Baumhart Road, north on Baumhart Road to State Route 113, east on SR 113 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound trucks. The work is expected to be complete in late July 2013.

State Route 58
SR 58, north of State Route 18 in the village of Wellington, is closed to construct a temporary railroad crossing as part of the new railroad grade separation project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to SR 18, west on SR 18 to State Route 511, north on SR 511 to US Route 20, east on US 20 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 5, 2013.

State Route 82
SR 82, just west of Plum Creek Drive, is closed for a culvert replacement in Columbia Township. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 82 to State Route 83, south on SR 83 to State Route 57, south on SR 57 to State Route 303, east on SR 303 to State Route 252, north on SR 252 to SR 82, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 7, 2013.

Interstate 90
I-90, over the Black River and Ford Road, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for bridge deck replacements. The restrictions will remain in place through November 2013.

State Route 113
SR 113, one-quarter-mile east of Gore Orphanage Road in Henrietta Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for westbound motorists is SR 113 to Baumhart Road, north on Baumhart Road to State Route 2, west on SR 2 to State Route 60, south on SR 60 to SR 113, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 2, 2013.

State Route 301
SR 301 (Abbe Road), at its bridge over Interstate 90 in the village of Sheffield, is closed as part of a replacement project.  The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 301 to State Route 254, southwest on SR 254 to I-90, east on I-90 to State Route 611, west on SR 611 to SR 301, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in early September, 2013.

State Route 303
SR 303, just east of State Route 301 in the village of LaGrange, is closed for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 303 to SR 301, south on SR 301 to State Route 18, east on SR 18 to State Route 83, north on SR 83 to SR 303, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 2, 2013.

State Route 611
SR 611, in the City of Lorain, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete by December 2013.

Boston Road
Boston Road, between Marks Road and Boone Road, is closed as part of a safety project at the CSX railroad crossing. The detour route westbound motorists is Boston Road to Marks Road, north on Marks Road to Emmons Road, west on Emmons Road to Boone Road, south on Boone Road to Boston Road, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-August, 2013.

MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 3
SR 3, just west of the CSX railroad tracks in the village of Seville, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 3 to Interstate 76, east on I-76 to State Route 57, south on SR 57 to State Route 604, west on SR 604 to SR 3, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road will reopen in early September, 2013.

State Route 3
SR 3, at its intersection with Reagan Parkway, has intermittent single lane closures for work as part of an intersection improvement project in the City of Medina. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in August 2013.

Interstate 71
I-71, at various locations near its interchange with State Route 18, has intermittent single lane closures or shoulder closures as part of a noise wall replacement project. Two to three lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in August 2013.

Interstate 76
I-76, between State Route 57 and State Route 21 in Summit County, is reduced to narrowed lanes of traffic for a rehabilitation project. Two lanes of traffic westbound are being maintained using the contraflow traffic configuration. Eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane between SR 57 and SR 94, and two lanes between SR 94 and the Summit County line. The project will be complete in September 2013.

·         The State Route 261 entrance ramp to I-76 west is closed. The detour route is to continue south on SR 261 to SR 94, north on SR 94 to I-76 west. The ramp is expected to reopen by August 2, 2013.

·         The I-76 west exit ramp to SR 261 is closed. The detour route is I-76 west to State Route 21, north on SR 21 to SR 261. The ramp is expected to reopen in mid-August.

State Route 162 - ***NEW***
SR 162, 0.25 east of Brynwood Road in Montville Township, will close Saturday, August 3 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 162 to State Route 57, south on SR 57 to Interstate 76, east on I-76 to State Route 94, north on SR 94 to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 10, 2013.

State Route 421
SR 421, between US Route 42 and US Route 224, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be completed by October 2013.

RICHLAND COUNTY
US Route 42

US 42 (Ashland Road), between East 5th Street and Central Avenue in the City of Mansfield, is closed as part of a bridge repair project. The detour route for local traffic is US 42 to East 5th Street, west on East 5th Street to Wayne Street, north on Wayne Street to Orange Street, east on Orange Street to Central Avenue, south on Central Avenue and reverse for southbound motorists. The detour route for through traffic is US 42 to East 5th Street, west on East 5th Street to Wayne Street, north on Wayne Street to State Route 545, north on SR 545 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to US 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-September 2013.

Interstate 71 (Morrow County)
I-71, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two narrowed lanes of traffic as part of a reconstruction and widening project. Two 11’foot lanes are being maintained in each direction and I-71 northbound is using a crossover traffic pattern through the remainder of the project. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.

State Route 314 (Morrow County)
SR 314, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge replacement as part of the I-71 widening and reconstruction project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 314 to US Route 42, south on US 42 to State Route 95, southeast on SR 95 to SR 314, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 20, 2013.

State Route 314
SR 314, between Beam Road and Snodgrass Road, is closed for the replacement of two culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 314 to West Fourth Street/County Road 330, west on CR 330 to State Route 61, north on SR 61 to SR 314, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on July 31, 2013.

State Route 545 - ***UPDATE***
SR 545, between US Route 30 and US Route 250, may have intermittent single lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in December 2013.

·         SR 545, at its bridge over the Black Fork River (between Pavonia Road and Vantilburg Road), is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary signal through mid-October.

·         SR 545, at its bridge over Whetstone Creek (just south of State Route 603), is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary signal through mid-August.

Trimble Road, Mansfield
Trimble Road, near its interchange with US Route 30 in the City of Mansfield, will have intermittent single lane closures as part of a traffic signal replacement project from National Parkway to Longview Avenue. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.

WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3
SR 3, from just south of Sterling Road to Interstate 76 in Medina County, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in November 2013.

State Route 3/Columbus Avenue
Columbus Avenue, at its bridge over US Route 30 in the City of Wooster, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge repair project. One narrowed lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in late September 2013.

State Route 83/Dix Expressway
SR 83, between US Route 30 and Friendsville Road, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a concrete joint repair project. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in November 2013.

State Route 94
SR 94, at three locations between US Route 30 and State Route 585, is closed for culvert replacements. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 94 to SR 585, south on SR 585 to State Route 57, south on SR 57 to US 30, east on US 30 to SR 94, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 2, 2013.

US Route 250
US 250, between Kidron Road and the Stark County line, may have intermittent lane closures for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in late August 2013.
