A man from Pennsylvania is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 33 pounds of marijuana, worth $149,820, following a traffic stop in Wood County.

Troopers stopped a rented 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, with Montana registration, for a speed violation on Interstate 80, near milepost 72, in Wood County at 7:56 p.m. on July 20. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed 27 vacuum sealed bundles of marijuana, weighing 33 pounds.

The driver, Joseph M. Darrah, 30, of Felton Pa., was incarcerated in the Wood County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
