MONROEVILLE — Voters narrowly re-elected Bonnie Beck as village clerk-treasurer Tuesday by a roughly 51 to 48 percent margin. Beck received 158 votes to Reer’s 151.

“I hope to continue serving the village of Monroeville for the next four years,” said Beck, who will now start her second four-year term. She also served as assistant clerk and office assistant for seven years.

“I hope the thing people voted for was the experience,” Beck said. She previously said she gained “extensive education regarding legislative and municipal laws, and am eager to continue serving the residents of Monroeville.”

Reer, who has no previous public experience, said she feels voters chose Beck because of her experience.

“I just want to thank all the people who voted for me and supported me and congratulations to Bonnie,” Reer said.

She said she is not sure if she will run again for clerk/treasurer.
