Steve Obermiller and Marcia Summerfield said there was a void in the area and they think they have filled it.
With few places to eat from Olena as far south as Mansfield and Ashland, the two have opened Obie's Dairybar and Pizza Shack at 683 U.S. 250 in Olena, about 5 1/2 miles south of Norwalk.
The eatery offers pizza, subs, burgers, Lake Erie perch sandwiches, an assortment of salads, homemade hard dipped ice cream and soft-served ice cream. The business usually carries eight to 10 ice cream flavors, Summerfield said.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week and offers dine-in and carry-out options.
A story about the restaurant and Obermiller and Summerfield was published recently in the Norwalk Reflector.
