State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an accident that claimed the life of a local man early today.

Dale Brundage, 62, of Berlin Heights, was driving a 1994 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle on Mason Road, just east of Frailey Road, at 1:30 a.m. when he struck a deer, troopers said. The impact of the collision caused Brundage to be ejected from the bike.

Brundage was not wearing a helmet, troopers said.

While the deer was not found at the accident scene, deer hair was discovered on the motorcycle.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, troopers said.
